I just watched the webinar and love the new features, thanks Bruce!! I do have a few questions about the online publishing though. If I'm understanding this right, we can use this to save the files to our computer like we have done with the old html generator. I can then upload this to another site, say the free pages at RootsWeb and it would work ok right? But as I'm writing this, something is telling me that RootsWeb doesn't allow java script, so the pages might not work there? I really like the look of the new page layout and I love that you can include multiple photos AND everyone in your database! But with this dynamic style if the info is not able to be found in a web search that is a draw back for me. I've been using RM to generate web pages and have met many cousins through them finding my site in searches. This is one of my main reasons for putting the info online, so I hope a solution to this might happen soon. :) In the mean time thank you for leaving both options in! I'm hoping to get RM6 very soon and it looks wonderful. Kim

I don't think you ever uploaded html files to RootsWeb; you uploaded a GEDCOM. You still can. Both the old and the new system generate a set of files comprising a website that you can upload to your own web hosting server. The new Publish Online provides an easy way to also upload the new website to RootsMagic's own web hosting service. In time, I daresay that search engines will be able to crawl through your PO website whether hosted by RootsMagic or some other service, especially if you make a link to it publicly available somewhere on the Internet. Maybe they will only get as far as the Home page, today, but, over time, I see no reason why they would not be able to execute Javascript and plough deeper.
