You will just have to turn County Check off until and unless it is improved. I think that's what most people do. I agree that County Check is a good idea, just a good idea that is very poorly implemented. In particular with respect to it being a good idea, it is date sensitive. That is, it checks the place you enter as compared to the date of the event. So it knows when various counties were first created. For example, in Iowa, there is a Des Moines (town) and a Des Moines (county). To make it even more confusing, Des Moines, the town, is *not* in Des Moines, the county. For someone who would enter Des Moines, Iowa, I would "assume" they would mean the town of Des Moines, which is in Polk County, Iowa.
