    3. I forgot to remember that there is a way to do the GEDCOM export and import from RootsMagic without using a word processor. In the database with the duplicate fact types, go to the Lists > Fact type list and edit the duplicate fact so that it's ABBREVIATION is the same as the standard fact. That will make the exported GEDCOM use that abbreviation as the tag and if they are both the same, they are imported into the same fact, the standard one.
