    3. I have taken a slightly different approach. I use the name at the time of event and put the new name in parens with the word was or now. Examples: Angers Abbey, Angers, Maine-et-Loire (was Anjou), France Constinople (now Istanbul), Turkey Elizabethtown (now Rahway), Union County, New Jersey Hockessin, New Castle County (was Chester County, PA), Delaware As with most things in life, there are multiple ways to do anything, so this is just another method. I like it because it shows were the records originally were kept, which in many cases remain today. > > I have several locations where I want the historical name also.
