My g-grandfather was a ship captain for example, and in his case we have pictures not only of him but a few of his ships. . .but no grave marker. He was cremated in 1934 and his ashes scattered at sea. My grandson doesn't start school until next Tuesday, but the little guy has been interested in the genealogy all summer while he stayed with us during the day. He asked if we could let him take some of this to school, so I would just like to give it to him, so that is the reason we are talking about some printouts and charts that might be appropriate for him to be able to take and explain to other kids. I had originally thought about a pedigree chart, but now we're looking at others as well. David E. Makes a great teaching tool. Especially if they are in the dress of their time. Even cousins and other relatives are interesting. Try maps from their time with pictures of the old house you once lived in. This with trips to cemeteries can enhance.
