    1. [RMagic] Nickname field in Add New Person screen, RM 5.0.4.1 - a glitch?
    2. Linda Johnson
    3. The Add New Person screen illustration in the RM5 manual, p. 40, shows three fields in the second line, labeled Prefix, Suffix and Nickname. The Add New Person screen that actually comes up in RM 5.0.4.1 has four fields in the second line. The first is labeled Prefix; the second is labeled both Suffix and Nickname; the third is unlabeled; and the fourth is the Living checkbox. When I entered a nickname in quotation marks in the second field, then printed a Descendant List Report and Descendant Box Chart (with File Options/General/Nickname Format set to the John "Jack" Kennedy option), both reports put the nickname in quotation marks but placed it after the surname rather than between the given names and the surname:  John Kennedy "Jack" instead of John "Jack" Kennedy. Is this a glitch and is there a workaround, or am I missing something? Also, what is the intended purpose of the unlabeled third field in the second line of the Add New Person screen? TIA Linda Johnson

    3. You probably resized the Add New Person screen too narrow. Click the border and widen it back out. - Bruce http://www.rootsmagic.com On Tue, Aug 14, 2012 at 9:47 PM, Linda Johnson <lindajohnsongenealogy@yahoo.com> wrote: > The Add New Person screen illustration in the RM5 manual, p. 40, shows three fields in the second line, labeled Prefix, Suffix and Nickname. 3. What Bruce said ! AND, you do not need to add the quotation marks to the nickname. In the Tools menu there is a "File Options" where one of the options lets you choose one of two ways to display the nickname.
