    3. Thank you for your reply Jon,   I'm sorry that I didn't make my posting clearer. Go to tools and click on merge/manual. Select his name, but look above and below him for the same name. If there is none than it is not duplicated. The views you describe can be from the  descendant view with him highlighted and the number of generations selected to include Grandchildren. The other view is with his parent highlighted and only 3 generations on the slide bar.     3. Maureen, Use Tools, Merge, Manual Merge and select the two versions of your duplicate man to merge.
