    3. Maureen When you do this for the duplicate man the families will be merged BUT anybody that appears in both families will appear twice in the merged family - instead of having one wife he'll have two wives (one from each original family), etc. You will also need to merge these duplicates together to get back to a single family. I should have said that I must have entered this man twice (at different times), he has two different record numbers, and I must have entered different details on the two occasions, i.e. His parents and childen on one but not his grandchildren and his children and grandchildren on the other without entering his parents and their details. > > Maureen > > > > From: Jon Czarowitz <czarowitz@gmail.com> > To: Maureen Ellen <maureen.ellen@rocketmail.com>; > rootsmagic-users@rootsweb.com > Sent: Saturday, 22 September 2012 12:21 PM > Subject: Re: [RMagic] Merging a person and his family > > > Maureen > This may not be a duplicate, but 2 views. > Go to tools and click on merge/manual. > Select his name, but look above and below him for the same name. > If there is none than it is not duplicated. > The views you describe can be from the descendant view with him highlighted and the number of generations selected to include Grandchildren.
