Thank you all for your help. I followed all suggestions with no effect. However, by accident I think I've discovered the problem, but am not techie enough to understand it. When I opened RM from the shortcut on my toolbar I got the error 26 message. When I opened RM from the original icon on my desktop I had no error message. So... deleted the toolbar shortcut and will use the desktop one. Hopefully, that is the end of the problem.
