Some information and a few comments..... Rootsmagic is a for profit program, produced by a for-profit company, Rootsmagic, Inc. The Rootsmagic mail list is maintained by Rootsweb, a completely different and independent (of Rootsmagic) organization. Neither organization has "any" control over what the other organization does. The Rootsmagic mail list adheres to the strict requirements of Rootsweb. Rootsweb places complete control of the mail list into the hands of the mail list administrator...... but doesn't allow commercial content (several years ago an administrator of a list I subscribed to was booted out for touting items that he had for sale). What it boils down to is that Drew is the Rootsmagic administrator, and as such has complete control over the content. If he chooses he can control what any individual subscriber can post.... but so far as I know he doesn't do that. He can also control who is allowed to subscribe, but again, so far as I know he doesn't do that. One thing one should NEVER do is to post *to the list* a comment suggesting what the administrator should or should not do.
