    1. [RMagic] Pre revolution locations

    3. I'm loading in to my roots db, family histories provided by relatives. I'm currently working in the years of 1700 - 1600. Most of the locations are specified using current geopolitical terms that Roots wants to correct to names that better reflect that of the target time period. I'm feeling a bit uneasy about these corrections but accept them in the interests of accuracy. However, I'd like to research these locations myself. Is there a good resource where I can relate current locations to those in colonial periods in New England? Thanks to all who respond Jim

    3. With my Cherokee Indians, the two Smith lines from Tennessee, Delaware and South Carolina I consistently used the names that would have been used for legal documents at the time of the event. Then in a note for reports I state what I have done. The important thing is to indicate what you are doing in a general note and make every effort to be consistent. I have tried to do that back to 1741. Grave Yard locations can be a real pain trying to decide what location to use. Remember some can be abandoned or destroyed. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of James Shaw via Sent: Saturday, January 24, 2015 3:02 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [RMagic] Pre revolution locations I'm loading in to my roots db, family histories provided by relatives.
