    3. If you have the film# go to the FS catalog and look up the film and its content. -----Original Message----- From: Lynne Roberts via Sent: Friday, January 30, 2015 10:46 PM To: 'David Finnigan' ; [email protected] Subject: Re: [RMagic] Citing FamilySearch I sympathize - it took an act of Congress to convince Familysearch that Familysearch wasn't an acceptable source! You have to drill down - and at times I've had to make personal inquiries to determine the source of their information. Having the film # is helpful, but of course that's where you access it - it isn't the source. Start digging - and if you can't find it from the site, don't hesitate to email them for the information - but be sure that you retain all the information so you can relate it to them. The transcription shows the following citation details: "England Marriages, 1538-1973 ," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NNKK-T4K : accessed 31 January 2015), Samuel Page and Elizabeth Blythe, 26 Oct 1800; citing Ludham, Norfolk, England, reference item 7; FHL microfilm 1,911,695. Which RM source should I be using to get this result? I couldn't find anything that looked similar. Thanks. 3. As LL pointed out. Go to the familysearch catalog, put in the film number and you will get the source for the information. In your case it was item 7 which refers to: Church of England. Parish Church of Ludham (Norfolk); Norfolk and Norwich Record Office in Norwich is the repository. But since you did not actually look at the original register in England, but rather the film online (or in FHL) you need to cite that as your source and then cite the original. RM makes this easy. Use Church records: film of LDS records at FHL; church & series as lead element Ref: [EE, QC-7, p316] On Fri, Jan 30, 2015 at 9:58 PM, LLScott via <[email protected]> wrote: > If you have the film# go to the FS catalog and look up the film and its > content. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Lynne Roberts via > Sent: Friday, January 30, 2015 10:46 PM > To: 'David Finnigan' ; [email protected] > Subject: Re: [RMagic] Citing FamilySearch > > I sympathize - it took an act of Congress to convince Familysearch that > Familysearch wasn't an acceptable source!
