Under Tools, in Program Options, make sure CountyCheck when entering places is not checked. That will more than likely put an end to it. Conceivably it could also have to do with some Rootsmagic addon you are using. Most of the locations are specified using current geopolitical terms that Roots wants to correct to names that better reflect that of the target time period. I'm feeling a bit uneasy about these corrections but accept them in the interests of accuracy. However, I'd like to research these locations myself.
