I read your question two different ways: The comment under help has to do with how the "auto" script that RM generates in a narrative report is put together. It (at your choice) will include the sentences that RM generates for facts all in one paragraph, or will put each fact sentence into a new paragraph. I suggest that you try generating a sample "book" of only one or two people for which you have a lot of data (facts) on. Try both options, and see which one produces the "look" you prefer. The other possibility of what you are referring to is how to include a paragraph of your own composition within a book or report that RM generates. If that's what you mean, then it's a different reply. For that you have to use RM's publisher. Click the ADD button drop down arrow, and from the drop down list, select Other Reports, then scroll to Text Page and select that. You can then give the page a title (or not) and either type your paragraph directly into the box, or paste previously edited material in. With this, you are somewhat limited in where you can then place this paragraph. (Only 'between" chapters already set.) I hope this helps. -- Charlie Hoffpauir http://my.rootsmagic.com/CRHoffpauir/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~charlieh/ http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.hoffpauir http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Hoffpauir

    3. Jim, You posted a question (below) saying, "... how I can include paragraphs where I actually want to put them... ." I recognize you as a TMG user, either evaluating or having made the switch to RM (apologies if this is not the case). In TMG, it's possible to use "carriage return" codes in the events / facts, resulting in Journal or Narrative reports with paragraphs that are user created, wherever you want them to be. I don't see a way to do this in RM; having searched the Help content, find nothing equivalent, other than the RM options previously mentioned that you found... one run-on paragraph of all events / facts or each event / fact in its own paragraph. On the Rootsweb TMG-Refugees list, we discussed this same topic: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/tmg-refugees/2014-11/141671621 6 (be careful with word wrap, some of the link may need to be copied manually) In the message noted above, there is a link to additional discussion: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/tmg-refugees/2014-10/141454776 6 (same word wrap issue on the link above, copy / paste the entire link for it to work) You also may be interested in checking out the TMG-Refugees separate website, a google groups site, with comparison notes and data posted for several different software options. There is one page noting "sentence template" comparisons. TMG includes "carriage returns" under formatting options and RM does not. If you dig through the Rootsweb TMG-Refugees comments and responses in the links noted above, you may find someone saying they found a way to include carriage returns in their RM narratives... after their import from TMG. I see a couple of issues related to that method, (1) the carriage returns (for creating paragraphs) are lost in RM import of TMG, (2) if you can add them back following import and do it where you want them, not limited to the 3 (global report) options previously noted, then where is the documentation for it, so as to be confirmed by the developer(s) and not lost in future development as a temporary work-a-round. Good luck and post here or on the TMG-Refugees list if you find a way to keep and continue to use paragraphs from TMG into RM.
