I seek to make a distinction between: . "I know from some source that there was a marriage, but I have no information about it", (blank marriage fact, source noted?) . "I'm not sure there was a marriage but I'm giving the parents the benefit of the doubt", (blank marriage fact, no source note, but a clarification Note?) and . "I definitely know that there was not a legal marriage (including common law), I'm just documenting DNA heritage" for medical history reasons. This covers liberal parents (no marriage fact)and/or rape cases. (newly designed rape fact?), . Surrogacy, etc. I'm not seeing provision for these fact types in R7. Perhaps a Note at the Family level? Thoughts? Jim Shaw
That's the kind of info I put in the marriage Notes. Love, Lou Louis E. You know there's a notes field, right? There are separate notes fields for marriage and for the person overall. You can write notes about anything including information and evaluations of the quality of your sources that wouldn't fit in the source fields. If someone told you there was a marriage and that is all you know, you can cite that person and the conversation as your source. Should be a source template for that. I put all my notes and all my sources, stories and whatever else in the general notes field. I don't bother with the others. Dora there are interview templates which is what you might want to use so that your sources are not in your notes. I saw 3 different types and they look like they would handle such situations.
