    3. When you open and edit a database file, only that file is affected. The file in Dropbox is a different file than the one on your C drive and the file on your ipad is a third one. Initially their contents were the same (you copied one to Dropbox and that one was copied to iPad. If you change the one on your C drive, it is different from the one on Dropbox and the iPad until you copy it to Dropbox which leaves the iPad one out of sync until you update it from Dropbox.
