Yes -- there is a place for media items and notes for places and place details -- go to: Lists|Place List you can then select a place by clicking on it which will open an edit window. At the bottom of the edit window, you can click on the icon to add notes or media. For adding notes or media to place details, in the Place List, select a place with Place Details. You will see a Place Details section of the window at the bottom right with a Notes and a Media icon at the top just like for people.
