If you try to merge Free Form sources with sources based on a template, you are out of luck. If you try to merge sources based on different templates, your odds are only slightly better. The source into which another source is to be merged must have all the desired field names from the latter in its definition else their values will be invisible. There are so many pitfalls with source templates that I think it is best to use them only as a guide to what information should be contained in the Free Form sentences.
