    3. Hello, I have uploaded a gedcom to export and didn't get a box to check private or public. And I didn't get to read the agreement before I have to check that I agree with it. What did I do wrong? Em

    3. When you click on Export under File, a window called GEDCOM EXPORT opens. On it are all the people, data and privacy settings. Once you determine those options you click "ok." Is this the process to which you are referring? 3. I assume you are wanting to place your gedcom online and are trying to read some sites privacy policy. But the same applies if you want to send it to an individual. Within Rootsmagic, Click on "gedcom export". That brings up a screen to chose all the options including those in the right column to privatize various notes, etc. If you want to have only dead people in your gedcom that you will be making, don't choose the top choice which means to export everybody "everyone" and instead choose "select from list". The previous choice will take you to another screen, where you can choose to export only dead people. That is what I do when I want to put a gedcom file online. Once you have made your gedcom and want to place it online someplace, like MyHeritage, Ancestry, etc. you would follow their instructions and read their policies about what is shared. However, if you don't include living people in the first place, you won't have to worry about any living people for the public to see no matter what the other company's privacy policy. 3. I too am trying to export a gedcom of only the dead people. When I choose dead people after clicking on "select from list" the program selects everyone in the database. I have tried this numerous times with the same results. Am I doing something wrong or is the program malfunctioning? I was horror-struck to discover ALL my personal info on WorldConnect, and I thought I had removed it. I had to delete the gedcom on WorldConnect, but the names of "liviing" people are still showing there, just not connected to anyone. I've sent them a msg to find out why deleting the gedcom didn't delete the people in the gedcom. Woe is me...
