Is there a simple way to move RootsMagic and my family trees from my old computer to my new computer? Old Faithful crashed ( restored...sort of....was able to restore RM to old computer with help from RM site...wonderful people). I am going to leave RM on Old Faithful. Download from RM site and use a backup to restore to new computer. You may have to add Reg info to new one. Use a flash drive to move backup. Just go to the www.rootsmagic.com site and download the version you are using on the old computer to the new computer. All you need is the registration code to get it properly installed. Next make a backup of your most recent RM file from the old computer and put it on a flash drive. Then put the flash drive in your new computer. On the new computer click file, then restore backup, then navigate to the letter of the flash drive and let it restore. If you wish you can designate specific folders to place files in, but it might just be easier to let the program place the folders where it wants initially, and you can make changes later.
