    1. [RMagic] Suggestions for 1/2 hour presentation on Roots Magic??
    2. Richard Akins via
    3. I have been asked to give a short talk in August about Roots Magic to our local genealogical society. The vast majority of these folks have been using FTM for years w/o complaint and only recently been forced to think that they might have to, need to, or want to change. I have been using RM and its predecessor for many years, but most would consider me a somewhat casual user: I enter a few things off and on as the mood hits me. I am, however, more technically knowledgeable than the average PC user. Now that this opportunity has been thrust upon me, I like to do a good job of letting the attenders see RM in its best light. I am open to suggestions of the most important things to show (PC, projection, and WiFi are all available). Perhaps there is some outline available somewhere? Or a webinar with a similar purpose that I get ideas from? I'm guessing that Bruce isn't going to be available as a substitute ;-) Dick

    3. I recently did a presentation for our local Genealogy user group, focused on the ease of converting from FTM to RootsMagic. I used a projector and threw som of the following onto the screen to talk about. If you have no projection capability, these would be a basis for a talk. Handouts could be made of some of the info. I started with" http://www.rootsmagic.com/ftm/ Next http://blog.rootsmagic.com/?p=2546 Next (if more info is needed about features of RootsMagic, itself) pick some of the features http://www.rootsmagic.com/RootsMagic/ It was well received Dick Murphy On Tue, Apr 5, 2016 at 7:28 AM, Richard Akins via < rootsmagic-users@rootsweb.com> wrote: > I have been asked to give a short talk in August about Roots Magic to our > local genealogical society. 3. Dick, Feel free to use any webinar (http://rootsmagic.com/webinars), video ( http://rootsmagictv.com) or guide (http://rootsmagic.com/guides) in your presentation (or preparation) for it. It's tough to show much in just a half hour, so you'll only have time to lightly touch on a few things and won't be able to go into much detail. - Bruce On Tue, Apr 5, 2016 at 8:28 AM, Richard Akins via < rootsmagic-users@rootsweb.com> wrote: > I have been asked to give a short talk in August about Roots Magic to our > local genealogical society. 3. Direct import from FTM. A free Essentials version with no time limit. 50 free webinars plus shorter TV instruction programs. A complete Help Index and Helps free with programs, both versions.. Free downloads if you desire and no conversion from free to extended version. RM is very low priced. Pick and show a webinar on How to use RM or other selection. These are just some ideas. Use your own. Jon P *** On 4/5/16, Richard Akins via <rootsmagic-users@rootsweb.com> wrote: > I have been asked to give a short talk in August about Roots Magic to our > local genealogical society.
