That only works if your cemeteries are stored as a part of the Place field and not if they are stored as a part of the Place Details field. Well, I guess it "sort of" works with Place Details. What I mean by that is that it works at the Place level and in the process the report does break things down also at the Place Details level. But you will get everything at the Place level in the report which is more than you wanted to see. But it's a very easy report to run. Jerry
To add, all this multi-generational, plus 10 or 15 generations, is all crap anyway. YOU CANNOT USE THE BIBLE AS A SOURCE DOCUMENT FOR YOUR TREE!!!!! People, get real. Use ONLY documented sources, that is, those you can find on PAPER somewhere in an archive. I just get sick of seeing these people who claim they have proof of ancestry back umpteen generations, but have nothing but conjecture. Furthermore, you idiots who claim an ancestral chart back to Adam and Eve, can I sell you some land in Florida? Sorry to get so "het up", but some "researchers" should go back, erase every bit of data they have in their database, forget they every had any ancestors, and just figure they were discovered under a cabbage leaf in the garden. They might follow the genealogy of the cabbage plant more correctly than they have followed their own genealogy. A really P***ed off follower of this List, because of idiotic post like Ken's. Pat, there is no way that would be possible!!!!! 300 generations, at about 25 years per generation, would be about 7,500 years ago. Ken, have you discovered some kind of crystal ball that lets you look back that far? Why would anyone even try to do a 300, 100, 50, or 25 generation list? Utter nonsense! Yeah, I know, some "researchers" have traced their ancestors back to Adam and Eve. Don't know how many generations that would be. Can't you simply go to Lists > Place List, select the cemetery you want, select Print, and choose Print Events in a Single Place. Does that accomplish what you want? It must be something "other" than the pure "number" of generations before the error occurs, because now I'm getting the error at 8 generations versus your seeing it at 14 with your database. My error is: "RootsMagic has encountered ad unexpected error: Range check error" "Please tell RootsMagic about this problem" I know I had this problem several versions ago, and I'm pretty sure that it was "fixed", but like you, I don't often generate such a list.... I only tried it today thinking it might be appropriate for the upcoming family reunion. I know you have used RM a long time, but -- Just in case -- Did you run the database tools? Anyone else having this kind of problem? I know RM has had problems in the past with large descendants lists, but I thought they had been corrected in earlier versions (I'm using 7.2.0.1) The program seems to complete the generation of the list, but when I go to view or save it, it simply locks up and I have to go to Task Manager to close RM. I don't know how large the list is because I haven't been able to view it all, but the screen shows nearly a thousand pages, even thought it's locked up and I can only view page 1. -- Charlie Hoffpauir http://my.rootsmagic.com/CRHoffpauir/ http://sites.rootsmagic.com/CharlieHoffpauir/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~charlieh/ http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Hoffpauir
>From Jackson Anderson of RM Tech Support on Facebook 5 May: This morning we released 7.2.0.1 which patched a couple of minor problems on the WebHints and also incorporated a dual signing of security to satisfy different security signature requirements for Vista and Windows 10. Those that already had 7.2.0.0 would not get an update notice; they can manually download and install the update. OK Jon, you made me have to do it. :-) I just downloaded and installed version 7.2.0.1 so I reckon I am caught up again with everyone else. As I think about it now, I do seem to vaguely recall something like this happening before in one form or another, but my aging gray matter can't come up with the details but no matter. Thanks for prompting me to do what I probably should have simply done in the first place. David I download the install linmkl and save it renaming it to current numb er. Then use flash drive to copy that to the location. Running it from each location at same time. You might have done it from within programs in the middle of number change. Jon *** On 5/15/16, David E. Tom, Thanks, I figured the problem was something like that. Whatever was fixed by "7.0.0.1" had to have been a pretty minor fix, and I assume future updates will self-correct the issue by default. Thanks for the reply. David -----Original Message----- From: Tom Holden [mailto:ve3meo@gmail.com] Sent: Sunday, May 15, 2016 9:00 AM To: David E.
