With all of the above in mind, Using the Marriage Status at death of a spouse would terminate the marriage so RM could calculate a length of marriage. The Spouse death is not shown on the partner's facts otherwise. This means doing it as a routine as you go. That report shows the number of years since the marriage event, not how long the marriage lasted. What is wanted is something like this: HusbandWifeMarriedAnnulledDivorcedDiedLength Gebbie, William Thomas-1690 Jacques, Edna Freida B-1374 1912 0 0 1915 3 It shows that the marriage in 1912 ended with the death of one of the spouses in 1915, lasting about 3 years. The RM report says this year is the 103rd anniversary of the marriage event. If you have your email set up as IMAP sometimes it's possible to have strange things happen with downloading mail. It doesn't happen to me very often though. Make sure you've got your e-mail set up the way you want in terms of what happens to mail on the server when you delete it from your computer. You can use the calculator to subtract dates but only for one person at a time. I can't even think of a possible custom report that would give you what you want. You could create a custom report containing marriage dates and divorce dates (and/or death dates). Then export the data to Excel and do the calculation there. Okayyy, I did something with SQLite. I think it works except for outliers such as a couple in the distant past who are surely deceased for whom there is no event to terminate the marriage and probably not for a couple who married, divorced and remarried. In both cases, it will give results but maybe not realistic. Also, it just calculate the length of marriage in years from the years of the events, not down to months and days. Interested? Hello Mike, Having seen the answers to your query my suggestion is that you enter the length of a marriage in the personal notes for the persons concerned. That way you will have the information at hand. I do that sort of thing with recorded death ages and abode of parents at christenings of their children etc. Regards, Rod in Andover. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com

There is a marriage report but it does not do any calculation of married time. You can use the calculator to subtract dates but only for one person at a time. I can't even think of a possible custom report that would give you what you want. You could create a custom report containing marriage dates and divorce dates (and/or death dates). Then export the data to Excel and do the calculation there. I am not certain why this is happening, but today I received 100 emails from this list dated the last day in January to today and this seems to be quite ordinary. I would be interested to know if it's just me (I have a new computer, not a year old yet, or if it happens to other people on this list Jim

Hello Emery You've probably done this yourself but I looked at the Rootsweb lists index to see if there was a mailing list for St.Cyr. There isn't but there is one for Cyr (without 'St'). They don't share many messages (1 per month!) but somebody must read them. So I'm wondering if you have tried that avenue to locate your missing genealogist. regards, Judith On 13/02/2015 2:01 p.m., Emery St Cyr via wrote: > Hello to all. > > > > I found an inquiry on an Ancestry message bd and would like to respond but > the address was from 2001 and is not working now. > > > > I was wondering if this address might have been you, or you, or you > > [email protected] > > > > If you recognize this address please respond to this request. > > > > The line that they were searching for was St. Cyr in the new England area. > > > > Thanks for your time > > Em > > > > =================================== > RM list Archives: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/ROOTSMAGIC-USERS/ > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/search?path=ROOTSMAGIC-USERS > WISH LIST: http://www.rootsmagic.com/forums/ BLOG: http://blog.rootsmagic.com/ > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
