I had a family member post the web page from my private My Heritage to Ancestry word for word. She grabs anything that is her surnames and posts it. If you have RootsMagic WebHints enabled for MyHeritage, every time you open a Pedigree View, Descendants View, or Family View, the vital facts for every person in that view is transmitted to MyHeritage. When you click on a lightbulb for a person and then one of the WebHint links, you will see (some of) your data about that person displayed on the left under "From your RootsMagic tree". That data persists on the MyHeritage server for months. I wonder what they might do with it - it represents a potentially big data mine for both the living and the dead! MyHeritage is an Israeli company but I see no reason to be any more suspicious of it than of one in your own country. Similarly of concern to those worried about privacy is the RootsMagic 7 Publish Online feature. It uploads your entire database to the MyRootsMagic.com server. Having the ability to "delete" a tree from any of these servers is no guarantee that the data has been deleted from all the places that it is stored. It might merely toggle a flag that controls whether the tree is made visible to the "owner". Let's not get into an actual discussion about the merits of MYHeritage! We were rebuked for that before. I suppose someone who knows could state whether or not you can delete a tree which you yourself posted there though. Ancestry allows you to delete any tree you own. Of course, if your trees aren't private, people have already copied them 1000 times! Doesn't MyHeritage allow you to delete the trees you have posted? >From the various comments I've seen here and elsewhere, and from the information that MyHeritage is owned by a company in the Middle East, I've never been able to decide whether to subscribe or not. I don't know that I want to give them my credit card info. I take it that the owners of RootsMagic, Family Tree DNA, and 23andMe all do trust MyHeritage. Some people have said that my Heritage has taken their tree and posted it without their permission. I'm not sure how they can do that. I know that some people have copied my tree off my website and posted it there. I hardly think MyHeritage did it themselves though. It would be too much work for the company to surf the web in order to find trees that weren't posted on their website and post them there themselves! It sounds as though you opened a version from before you set Favorites. If you restore at the start of each session, then you may have restored a pre-Favorites version over your last working version. Working on a common database from multiple computers is risky if backups are stored in more than one place. Margie I have found that a live chat with a person with FamilySearch gets very good result. If that person doesn't have the answer then an email to their support will get the results. For example: Two direct lines are Smith with no blood relation. The file for James Smith has been too large for me to correct. I sent them all the source information for each item. Not only did they correct it; they updated all of thee ordinance information for his family and everything was correct. They did not have information on what we can do working within our RM7 system. Michael, I think what you want is Reports -> Lists -> Research Reports -> Source List. Then pick the Single Source that you require. The basic Find dialog is just to click on the Find icon (the looking glass icon) on the main toolbar. Or from the menu bar, Search -> Person List. This screen is called the RootsMagic Explorer. The same screen comes up as a part of the process of creating Named Groups and in the process of color coding. Jerry -----Original Message----- From: David E. I can find no "Find" dialogue that you refer to, so cannot find anything that follows it. :-( I have finally printed out a list of all usage for this one particular source and citation, and am finding and fixing each detail URL edit one at a time. It is a long tedious process, but it works in the end and is the only solution I can come up with since no search and replace feature goes where I need to go in the citation detail web-tag. :-( Thanks for the reply. I have created a source citation including "detail text" (NOT Master text) entry and a web tag that of course requires using the detail citation edit tab to enter a UEL. Unfortunately, after using this detail citation a couple dozen times or more, I've just discovered that I have some added text following the URL that is incorrect and needs to be deleted but I cannot find any means of efficiently doing it. Can anyone out there offer any advice on how to FIND all of these erroneous detail citations so I can delete the 3 or 4 words following the URL that do not belong there? I have tried the "Search and Replace" feature, but cannot seem to find them to make that feature work. Likewise everything else. I've even tried printing out a Source List for that source, but that prints out at over a hundred pages (if I do print it) and I am unable to effectively find the erroneous detail citations or the URL so I can correct them even one at a time. I know how to edit them, but I have to find them all first in order to do that, and not all are used for the same individual. I welcome any suggestions or advise. I go to great lengths to source EVERYTHING and use Bruce's fantastic sources and citations to the fullest, but now I have something known to be entered wrong and it is going to be bothering me until I can find each entry and fix it. :-( David E.
