Daniel Gillilan, father of Reuben came from N.Y. to Washington Co., Ohio in 1817 and to this county in 1824. Reuben had 2 sons in Civil war. Daniel Jr. married here May 4, 1851 Lydia Spiller born Jefferson Co., Ohio February 22, 1825, daughter of Thomas Jackson and Susanna (Spitler) Spiller, who came here in 1839. Daniel and Lydia had: W.D., E.M., T.J.L., H.S., J.D., M.A.L.V., and G.V. (sic). Lydia died July 8, 1882. They lived Racine, Meigs Co., Ohio.
