Hi Everyone I'm trying to find information on this couple please. They were married:- January 18, 1815 Married on Tuesday the 10th inst. Mr. John Fuller of Connellsville, to Miss Harriet Smith, of Westmoreland County. I know this couple had one son Smith Fuller b (1818) who was a doctor I'm trying to find their other children. Our Henry Fuller was born 1819-1824 PA This John Fuller was the son of Daniel FULLER from Dublin Ireland and N. YOUNG also from Ireland. I believe there is a book called the Fayette Co. bio book 1912 by Jordan and Hadden, that lists the family in it. If anyone could help me with the children of John Fuller that would be great. Many thanks Dianna from Oz
Dianne This morning I thought to look up the 1840 census of Fayette County. In Menallen James Fuller has 8 members of his household: One male age 10-14 (Henry the innkeeper age 24 in 1850?) one male age 20-29 One male age 40-49 (James) And five females In Connellsville, John Fuller has: One male 15-19 (Smith?) one male 40-49 (John?) Three females In Perry, James fuller has: Two males 5-9 Three males 10-14 One male 30-39 Four females In Franklin, Robert has One male under 5 One males 20-29 One female Also in Franklin, Shadrick has One male 10-14 One male 20-20 One male 50-59 Six females In Brideport, Tillson has One male under 5 Two males 15-19 One male 50-59 Five females As you see, there is no other males of appropriate age in the John of Connellsville household in 1840 to be Henry. And, further, the Henry age 24 in 1850 is still in Menallen in 1860, wife and children and same mother. At the same time, Henry in Allegheny is there in 1860.. And, of course, Henry and Mary are there in 1850 with Samuel F and Shirville N. Back to the drawing board. I forget overtime where we've been with this, and tend to pass over the same territory. BUT, it's good you are doing this, because everyone you can cross off the list leaves fewer to be on the list. Interesting name, Shirevill/Sherwell. Family name? good thing to look for. There's a Joseph Sherrow in Westmoreland, a Michael Sherrod in Erie, in 1840. Some Sherwoods, but no Sherwell. There are some Shirly families in Kistiminetas, Armstrong County.
