I have a friend who has a relative (grand uncle) who was in and out of Russia and was naturalized in the US. He returned to Russia, arrested and disappeared. My friend is anxious to find out what happened to him. She has been in contact with the Russian Embassy but they have a problem releasing info to her since she has no documentation proving her relationship to the individual. Any one have any ideas/experience on dealing with the Russians? Any one have ideas on proving relationships in the absence of death/birth certificates. Ron Submarine Vet.
