Unfortunately most genealogy sites aren't very helpful for those of us from the Balkans. There are records once they get to these shores, but in the home countries, it's a pain   There are sites on the web dedicated to Greek genealogy. You might try Cyndi's list first. It is very difficult to get records from Greece. Their record-keeping was never the best, and being a very homogenous country, they don't "get" the genealogy thing that we in a very heterogenous country are into.       When I was in Greece a couple summers ago,  I did get ahold of Aris Poulimenakos, the only genealogist I know who has the "blessing" of the officials there to go thru old records.  I was also able to get into the Costianes records in our village's County Seat, and they were gracious enough to let me copy some of the registers. They do have some things online, but just like here, there are privacy issues.    You can contact me offline if you need more info.
