Hi, I was looking for a ships passenger list. Thanks to those who sent suggestions. One very kind person found the ship JACOB on the Palatine Project by Pro Genealogist. The ship did leave Rotterdam and sailed by way of Shields, England to Philadelphia. It arrived on 02 October 1749. There were people by the name of Dotter on board. That is one of at least a dozen spellings of the name. So far everything seems to fit MY PROBLEM There were 249 people who were passengers. The trouble was that only about 135 of the passengers were listed. Of those listed there were women and children listed with their ages. This means that it was not just a matter of only the head of household being listed. Does anyone know where I might find the other page of passengers? I am looking for Johann Anton Darter (Doerther, Dotter) and his wife Anna Maria Elizabeth Kurtz Darter/Tarter. Their very young children Nicholas and Jacob should be with them. I did look at the listings at family search. Almost all of the listings are for 1800 or later. The few that were listed before that were in books. The LDS doesn't loan books. I tried NARA but could not figure it out how it works. I just had another thought. Does anyone know if there is a list of the passengers from this ship who might have taken the Oath of Allegiance in Philadelphia. I am fairly certain that the Jacob is the correct ship. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I might find the remainder of passenger list? Thanks for any help thatyou can be. Velma VJSpringer@aol.com
The LDS doesn't loan but they will copy relevant pages for a reasonable fee. A total life saver sometimes <G> Eliz On Mon, Jul 2, 2012 at 2:25 PM, <vjspringer@aol.com> wrote: > > > Hi, > > > I was looking for a ships passenger list. Thanks to those who sent suggestions.
