    3. Thank you Gretchen and other members for looking. I did say I had found them but it was quite a feat as it took me all day. They are in a section of the 1940 census where the names are quite faded on the page. Luckily I know the first names and ages and where to begin looking via the 1930 census. Also having my grandmother Ethel's death certificate let me know where they were living in 1951. My Boswell family (John D, Ethel, Carroll, Lucille, Junior, Leonard & Robert) is listed in Enumeration District 71-11. On the Ancestry.com viewer it is listed as page 26 of 38. On the census form they are listed on lines # 53-59. As I understand another member suggested Ancestry's data base will not have the ability to be corrected until it's indexed. I just checked and according to Ancestry.com it is indexed. The problem lies with not being able to put their name into the search and come up with their name, and 'm sure this is because their name is listed as unknown on the census. I know it's listed this way as a bar pop's up on the far left side of the Ancestry.com viewer showing who is on each line. On my Boswell family it comes up as unknown. So again my question is, does anyone know at this time how we submit changes to Ancestry.com to let them know who is on this line? I spent over 30 minutes clicking on links in Ancestry to find an e-mail contact in which to send it along to. Thanks again, Sandy _________________ Sandy,You didn't give any names or other clues as to your family but Nebraska has been indexed. I checked only the city of Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska with no name given....There were well over 100 of those. If you can put in only the year and place of birth maybe you can find your family. If so you can probably make the needed correction.Hope this helps, Gretchen ORIGINAL MESSAGE: From: Sandra Jacobson <sandra.j@comcast.net>1940 Federal Census Corrections via Ancestry.com Does anyone know how to submit corrections for the 1940 Federal Census via Ancestry.com?

    3. The entries on the 1940 can be corrected if they have been indexed. It is a bit gnarly you have to click on the name itself and it can be iffy about coming up, but when it does it is a box with the name typed in as they have it. You then need to get your cursor to get there (I have had some trouble *G*) and type in what you need to. It isn't like the others where you have a box all the way to the left <G> I think each field on the 1940 can be corrected.
