OK, so I'll chime in: My local once a week paper, the Herald of Randolph (Vermont) will post a rather nice (in length) obit, if the person had ANY connection to Randolph. Will include a picture also. However there is the option of paying for one in which one can say almost "anything" What is neat is the obits are on all one page. Whereas, in years past they are scattered about the paper, usually within the numerous towns the paper covers, with only a sentence or two. So that making it difficult to research in the paper itself, or even on the films. Thanks, Harriet Chase
