does anyone know if Cape Girardeau Co. MO was part of IL before MO became a state, and if IL was part of TN before IL became a state, and if TN was part of VA before TN became a state? I'm trying to figure out if my Higgins people were in the same place all along, or actually did move around as much as they seem to have between 1800 and 1811. it's possible, but I need to be sure.
