ANSWER TO BELOW: John, Haven't a clue if this is your Polly Briggs but if you check "Find A Grave" in Broome County, New York you will find a listing for a Polly Briggs in Center Lisle Cemetery in Broome County, New York. She is listed as "Aged 90 yrs., 2 mos., 13 days. Date of birth is listed as July 24, 1792 and death as October 8, 1882. The 1880 Census that you found listed in Broome County, New York has her as 87 which would mean she was born circa 1792-1793. You might check if some known relatives are buried there or see if the cemetery is still a working cemetery and can give you any information. Also check with the local Library and/or Historical Society and see if they might have an obit. Don't know if New York state has death records at that time but you might check directly with Broome County and see if they possibly have a death record for Polly.
