As you no doubt realise EDWARDS is a common name, particularly in Wales If you search http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ For marriages 1869 for a William EDWARDS and spouse Mary you will find several possibilities None are for William J but its not unusual for someone to marry and not use their second name Findmypast have some Welsh records but do not know the extent There is also Familysearch although most records are pre 1837 there are some for that period, worth a check for anyway Do you not have a birth for any children which may have the mothers maiden name recorded?
