> Hello all, > This is my first attempt at using the mailing list. Please redirect me if I am not following proper protocols or procedures. > I am searching for some information on Pine Plains, NY. My sisters and I are planning a genealogy tour to this town because my father's family lived there from the late 1920's to late 1930's. My father loved growing up in Pine Plains and enjoyed reminiscing about his experiences there. He are hoping to get a glimpse at what used to be Briarcliff Farms and the Seymour Smith School. > > We believe that my father's younger sister, died there in 1934. I think you should try the Dutchess Co., Historical society they might have city directories but so too might a library in town or near by. Getting death certificates out of NYS can be pricey and slow. Google give no RC church in Pine Plains but many near by. Also go to findagrave and enter a search for Kelly and Dutchess co and it gives a number of RC cemeteries that you could call and ask if they have a burial for your people. Also check out the county site http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nydutche/ But I do think the phone is your best friend right now <G> Eliz St Christophers Church 7411 South Broadway, Red Hook, NY 11 mi W (845) 758-3732 · stchrisredhook.org St Mary Catholic Church 76 Sharon Road, Lakeville, CT 11 mi E (860) 435-2659 · stmarylakeville.org Good Shepherd Church 3 Mulberry Street, Rhinebeck, NY 13 mi W (845) 876-4583 · goodshepherd12572.com 2 reviews "Wonderful parish community filled with God's love!" - Saint Joseph Catholic Church 15 North Avenue, Millbrook, NY 14 mi S (845) 677-3422 · church.stjosephmillbrook.org Holy Cross Monastery Esopus, New York 20 mi SW (845) 384-6660 · holycrossmonastery.com Category: Catholic Church book and gift shop · monastic community · group retreats · episcopal church · mid-hudson valley St Bridget's Church 7 River Rd, Sharon, CT 18 mi SE (860) 672-6515 · stbridgetschurch.org St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 93 Wurts Street, Kingston, NY 18 mi W (845) 331-0436 · stpeterskingston.org On Wed, Apr 4, 2012 at 11:41 AM, <eburns7@rochester.rr.com> wrote: >> Hello all, >> This is my first attempt at using the mailing list.
