    3. Greetings Linda, >From what it sounds like, you either need to update your browser or clear cookies. I had this problem once, I was at McDonalds one day using ancestry and the next day was at the Library using ancestry world library edition, and every time I tried to look at the record I was viewing at McDonalds it was defaulting back to plain ancestry instead of the Library edition. I run Linux on my old laptop, dual booting both XP and linux. The only reason I still use XP is a burial index out of the U.K. and a Parish Locater.program for the same. I used to use Personal Ancestral File, which is no longer supported and since I've used it since about 1983 I was not looking forward to trying to find another genealogy program. Gramps is available in both linux and windows, and after using it for awhile I've found I do like it. I run Thunderbird portable win edition as email client under wine from the repositories of the distribution. Most everything you'd want in windows is available in linux, vlc, firefox and opera, along with google chrome and a bunch of other browsers. Go to www.pclinuxos.com, download an ISO, burn it to a disk and try it. You can boot from the CD and "test drive" linux. Unless installed it will not make any changes to your system. One of the perks of running this version is if you update once a week, your always running a current release, along with releases of any added software, no running around having to check for updates of other software installed, everything is available. Unlike other releases that every six months you need to re-format your dive and reinstall for their current release. They did a series of magazine articles on migrating from Windows to linux. Yes they put out a monthly magazine in pdf format. If anyone would like to see screenshots of my desktop: http://myphotos.mypclinuxos.com/images/cstrike77/snapshot9.png http://myphotos.mypclinuxos.com/images/cstrike77/snapshot10.png My son runs Win 7 and every time he sees my lappy he says he wishes Windows looked like this. My thoughts, jan
