    3. Karen According to the history I read, she married John Wilson in 1835, and had previously been married to Romualdo Pacheco, and had children. According to one source, she was born in 1812, married Pacheco at age 14, and had two sons, Mariano (1830) and Romauldo (1831), and was only 23 in 1835 at her marriage to John Wilson. The 1850 census shows them with Juana, 11, Maria, 9, Juan, 7. Mariano was 22, Romaldo was 18. I don't see Ramona II at all. Is she Maria Ramona? Or Juana Ramona? So, the only "candidate" I see for the boy would be Juan, and if so, that would put Ramona at 38ish and Juan at 7ish, if the photo was done around 1850. And, that boy doesn't look over seven to me. Only problem is that this is pretty early for this photography. Too bad we can't see what the medium was for the photo. Do you have any earthly idea where the original is? That would help. You can tell a lot from the medium in terms of age. Looks like it might be a cabinet card (size?) in which case it's about 1866-forward. Anyway, another problem, especially this early, is that most of the "example" photographs are from the east, and are not heavily influenced by the Spanish/Mexican culture, as you would find here. The flounced shirt reminds me more of the late '60s or early 70's, I have one (it will go to Karen, but the list won't have it) that is of my great-grandmother, with similar lines, and was taken around Eugene, Oregon. This is with her first husband, whom she married in 1870, when she was about 20. The dress is small waisted, the sleeves are not quite leg-o-mutton, the skirt has flounced edging. I don't know if that gives you a "hint" but I hope it does.
