    1. [ROOTS-L] Help for place in Germany
    2. Beverly Morris
    3. Hello, I'm researching Henry August NORDHOFF. born February 14, 1869. On a 1923 passport it states he was born in Litgendortmund, Germany After using Google.com, it appears it is misspelled. I'm trying to figure what this place is currently known as so I can add it to his FindAGrave.com memorial page. I don't have a subscription with Ancestry.com for out of country records, but there is a Heinrich August Nordhoff listed. According to his passport his father was William (deceased) and he was visiting two brothers that lived in Germany. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. ~Blessings, Bev in Calif.

    3. Beverly, The place, I believe, is Lutgendortmund with an umlaut over the u. Here it is googled http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dortmund-Lütgendortmund His passport application on Ancestry.com does not list the place in Germany where his brothers wetre living in 1923 when Henry applied for a U.S. Passport. He lists his destinations as Germany to visit brothers and then to travel to Holland, Switzerland, and France. He was living in Pekin, Illinois, at the time and was working as a miner. Thanks for the blessings!
