I've hosted a family site now for 12 years with a member base in excess of 1000+ all over North America and have NOT been notified of their intention to shut the private sites down. Just one week ago I spoke with a supervisor regarding the 'notification' function not working AGAIN to which she stated "they should have it fixed in a couple of months." During the length of this conversation she DID NOT inform me that the sites were going to shut down permanently. In my opinion that is extremely poor judgement on her part to not have outright told me this. Not only have I financially supported this site for many years but also have paid for an Ancestry World subscription for many years that now could change my mind about continuing that. Tonight in logging into the private site I host I CANNOT ACCESS ANY CONTENT. I definitely will be recalling the supervisor tomorrow as to WHY this is given they state ALL CONTENT can be accessed and/or added to up till the September date. I mass-emailed all our members from my private MyFamily site and hope to heaven they went through as rather than a confirmation that the mail was sent I couldn't even get back to the home page and I'm no novice using a computer. For anyone wishing direct answers to what is planned Ancestry has addressed them at the link below > http://www.ancestry.com/cs/faq/myfamily-faq B. But, what is worse, I am a self-taught computer novice who administers 5 sites at Myfamily. I have NO idea what to do now and what to do with the vast amounts of data that has been accumulated on these sites. Does Anyone out there have any suggestions? I wouldn't know how to create a private site on my own. And if there are any equivalent services to the one Myfamily sponsored, I do not know of them. Is anyone else in the same predicament I am in now? Help!!!! Renee
