    1. [ROOTS-L] Kevin Howell re Freebmd

    3. Hi all I just went to freebmd and found the following very sad statement Kevin Howell I am sorry to have to tell you that Kevin, who was for many years FreeBMD Corrections Co-ordinator, passed away on Wednesday 23rd April. Most transcribers will have had dealings with Kevin over those years, and many more will be aware of the other work that he did on scanned source and the website. Even after stepping down, four months ago, when he was told of his prognosis, he continued to work to fix any outstanding issues on his own transcriptions, and to ensure that the areas that he was working on were left in a tidy fashion ready for a new person to take over each of them. His input to the project has been immense, and we will greatly miss his sensible, level-headed input. Once Kevin's funeral arrangements are known, I will let you all know. Dave Mayall, on Behalf of the Trustees A sad loss indeed -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)
