CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Tarrant County is an organization of volunteer Advocates who stand up on behalf of abused and neglected children because they want them to have a future brighter, more hopeful than their past. These volunteers come from all walks of life. They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things. They speak up for children that have been neglected, abused, ignored. They're trained and they have a cause - with a first and last name. About 400 abused and neglected children in Tarrant County are currently waiting on the critical voice of a volunteer Advocate. Speaker: Teddi Wiggins is the Outreach Recruitment Specialist for CASA of Tarrant County. She has been with the agency since April 2010. Teddi came to CASA with over 25+ years of media sales experience. At CASA, Teddi works to bridge the gap between the approximately 375+ children waiting for an Advocate through the recruitment of volunteers. Having served in several volunteer organizations including Safe Haven Shelter where she did intake of battered families, Cook Children's Hospital as a communication liaison between parents, children, and hospital staff, and Alumni President of both All Saints' Episcopal School and Nolan Catholic High School, Teddi understands the important role volunteers play in the success of an organization.
