Is anyone else having a problem with getting into Dicks website? I am receiving his emails but when you click on to the particular item you want to see, I get a "* unknown domain: blog. eogn.com <http://eogn.com>*" error. A previous msg. from him had described some issues with his servers not working but since I can't get on any of the references I want to see, I'd say that he is still having problems. Input from anyone ?? Thanks, Nancy
Did you read Dick's message about servers? It's DoDS assault. Facebook and Wikipedia got slowed down yesterday by response. I couldn't get into my Facebook account all day yesterday and Wikipedia was very very slow. Hi Nancy Dick reported a problem a day or so ago and then reported it fixed today I did not test his statement though Having dug the post from the trash it appears as follows <http://eogn.wordpress.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2014/04/eogn-web-site-is-back-up.html> ie a temporary web site Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 21/04/2014 17:39, Nancy wrote: > Is anyone else having a problem with getting into Dicks website? I just made it through to http://blog.eogn.com/ and found the information below. Now, when a site moves from one server to another, there's usually an underlying change of IP numbers. The old numbers might be cached by your ISP, and until that cache expires and is refreshed (something you may have not control over), you won't be able to visit the site on its new server. (Like happened with WorldConnect recently.) All you can do is be patient, and keep trying... >From blog.eogn.com: This newsletter has been moved to a temporary host <http://blog.eogn.com/2014/04/21/this-newsletter-has-been-moved-to-a-temporary-host/> eogn <http://blog.eogn.com/author/eogn/> · April 21, 2014<http://blog.eogn.com/2014/04/21/this-newsletter-has-been-moved-to-a-temporary-host/>· This Newsletter <http://blog.eogn.com/category/this-newsletter/> · DDOS<http://blog.eogn.com/tag/ddos/>, DDOS attacks <http://blog.eogn.com/tag/ddos-attacks/>, newsletter<http://blog.eogn.com/tag/newsletter/>· No Comments <http://blog.eogn.com/2014/04/21/this-newsletter-has-been-moved-to-a-temporary-host/#comments> The hosting company where the Standard Edition newsletter runs has been receiving intermittent DDOS attacks for several days. The blog.eogn.compages have been up and down repeatedly for more than 36 hours. The other pages on eogn.com remained in operation but most site visitors had no way of learning that. *The Plus Edition will soon be working again at http://www.eogn.com/wp <http://www.eogn.com/wp/>.* As a temporary measure, I have moved the Standard Edition newsletter’s web site to a temporary host on wordpress.com. It will look very different from the newsletter you are used to reading and I am sure there are hundreds of broken links. All recent newsletter article are being posted at the new, temporary web site. However, that will require a few hours.
