Newspaperarchive.com is generally available through libraries or other institutions but not to individuals. When I lived in Colorado, the local library had it and I could access it online. It may benefit you to check around to see if a library close to you offers it as part of their membership. -----Original Message----- From: ROOTS [mailto:roots-bounces+erlybyrd99=yahoo.com@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of dianna charles Sent: Monday, February 27, 2017 3:07 PM To: roots@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ROOTS-L] Dianna/Pittsburgh paper HI Pat Thanks for that! Have you heard of the other one called Newspaper Archive.com or is that he same as Newspapers.com?? I have not looked at the other that you have provided a link to, chroniclingarmerica. Will have to make a decision I guess as to which sub to buy as I am trying to finalise this research by Easter if possible as I want to present all my findings to my friend as a very belated gift. Regards and thanks Dianna -----Original Message----- From: Kith-n-Kin Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2017 7:45 AM To: roots@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ROOTS-L] Dianna/Pittsburgh paper Dianna and all, I have GenealogyBank.com and Newspapers.com, and of course, we all have http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/. Ancestry.com also has some newspapers that used to be "theirs" but may now be part of Newspapers.com, since that was created by Ancestry.com. Additionally, many archives, particularly university and historical societies, have their own, and some of these are on the internet. I use the University of Oregon's Knight Library collection at: http://researchguides.uoregon.edu/newspapers/oregon My experience is that there is little cross-over, so it's important to look at each to determine if your target location is represented, and if so, what dates. I checked my Newspapers.com for the items mentioned by Lori, and didn't find those newspapers. One thing to remember is that newspapers changed names (Weekly and Daily...sometimes having both in the same time frame) over time, and I may have missed because I was looking in the wrong paper. Hope this helps.
