I’m not concerned about the genealogy software and how it handles people. What does concern me is finding people in my filesystem along with whatever documentation I may have on them. As in the beginning I had found that through divorce my cousin had married a cousin of his. Both a second marriage for each. Do u understand what I did to not be confused as to whom was married to who? Hope this helps-It sure did me. No mistakes as to married or belonged to whom later in life. I switched to Roots Magic last week and plan to buy a new MacBook Pro tomorrow. Is there a right or wrong or is it just personal preference? But isn't all of that in your genealogy program or linked to it anyhow? Eliz Not Today and Not without a Fight (Anon) For all that has been, thanks. For all that will be, yes. Hi Gale Its largely down to personal preference, although there are good ways and bad ways I keep a folder per surname, each subdivided by category, BMD, census, photographs, residences, ephemera, newspapers etc etc Sometimes they cross boundaries of sub folder, so I copy to each one Whatever I have on each person I file under the sub folder for that surname, sometimes to more than one surname if it crosses a family boundary I tend to be able to find most things with relative ease that way Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 20-Aug-17 8:42 PM, GALE GORMAN wrote: > I’m not concerned about the genealogy software and how it handles people. > > What does concern me is finding people in my filesystem along with whatever documentation I may have on them. > > Gale > > > On Aug 20, 2017, at 2:22 PM, Curtis <anglers@bullshoals.net> wrote: > > Gale,
