My computer files are a mess and I would like suggestions on how others organize their family tree files. I switched to Roots Magic last week and plan to buy a new MacBook Pro tomorrow. Is there a right or wrong or is it just personal preference? Thanks, Gale Gorman Houston

Gale, When I first started putting my Family tree in my computer I put the software program in twice. One listed under my maiden name only putting my family in that one. Second I listed the 2nd one under my husband's name and only put his direct family in the second one. As in the beginning I had found that through divorce my cousin had married a cousin of his. Both a second marriage for each. Do u understand what I did to not be confused as to whom was married to who? Hope this helps-It sure did me. No mistakes as to married or belonged to whom later in life.
