I've "rescued" an old photograph of Jennie WAYMAN which was taken at the Lawrence & Sons Studio in Los Angeles, CA and dated February 18, 1888. The date March 9th is also written on the back of the photograph. Jennie appears to be in her teens at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Jennie and her family: Elizabeth Jane "Jennie" WAYMAN was b. 8 Oct 1872 in Elizabeth Township, Jo Daviess Co. IL to parents Henry James WAYMAN (1847-1883) or James Knox Polk WAYMAN (1845-1927) or James A. WAYMAN (b. 1849) and Mary Ann ROGERS (1849-1901) or Judith L. CHRISTIAN (1846-1876) or Polly A. (b. 1849). Jennie was one of 18 children born to this couple including, William Henry or M.; Henry O.; David Earl; Lydia; Maud; James; Winfield Scott; Elmer; Mabel Cafutila; Myrtle L.; Charles "Charley" Thomas; Ora Hester; Jennie; Robert Milton; Francis M.; Jasper N.; Thomas J.; and Frank Byers WAYMAN, all born between 1867 and 1882. Jennie married twice, first to Edward Leopaul BRENOT (1869-1937) with whom she had a daughter, Lenore Hazel BRENOT in 1891. Jennie then married Abe Abram Wesley JOHNSON (b. 13 Jun 1872 in Missouri-d. 1940) and together they had three children including, Mary Elizabeth; Wayman Kendall; and Abe Wesley JOHNSON all born between 1898 and 1905. Jennie died 21 Jan 1957 in Laguna Beach, CA. Census records provide the following details: 1880 census of Westminster, CA: Henry WAYMAN, age 33, a Farmer, born IL, parents born PA Mary Ann WAYMAN, wife, age 30, Keeping House, born IL, parents born England/OH Ora WAYMAN, dau, age 10, at Home, born IL Jennie WAYMAN, dau, age 7, born IL + 5 boarders Living directly next door to John & Melanie BRENOT and their son Edward L. age 12, at home, born KS, parents born France I am hoping to locate someone from Jennie's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of her family.
