I've "rescued" a group of family letters and other documents belonging to Frank J. BERNARD and his wife Clara I. DAVIS BERNARD. DAVIS of Natick, MA - written from Westborough, MA by Frank - dated 29 November - addresses her as "B" Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding various family members mentioned in documents: Jerusha Greenough BAKER was b. 12 Oct 1759 in Haverhill, MA to parents John BAKER III (b. 1731) and Jemima HALL (b. 1732). Jerusha married Samuel Buck AMES (1759-1852) and together they had 11 children including, Mary; John; Susannah; Eliza; Hannah; Sarah; Jerusha; Anna; Baker; Moses; and Clara AMES all born between 1783 and 1801. Jerusha died 8 Jan 1844 in Norway, ME and is buried with her husband Samuel AMES in the Rustfield Cemetery in Norway, ME. Baker AMES was b. 9 Apr 1797 in Norway ME to the above parents and married Rebecca STEVENS (1794-1859), one of their children was Joseph Rust AMES (1819-1892) another a daughter Clara AMES HAYDEN (1829-1922). Baker died 24 Apr 1853 in Norway, ME and is buried in the Rustfield Cemetery in Norway, ME along with his wife Rebecca and daughter Clara. George H. BERNARD was b. 26 Dec 1828 in Leicester, MA to parents David BERNARD and Eliza HARRINGTON. George married Anna Rachel AMES (b. 1826) and they had a daughter, Maria Harrington BERNARD (1852-1892). Frank J. BERNARD was b. abt 1854 in Norway, ME and married Clara Isabel DAVIS (1855-1930) and together they had 9 children including, Harry Frank; Hazel Maud; John A.; Nellie Francis; Ruth L.; Waldo Nathan; Ralph Wilbur; Florence May; and Sylvia Helen BERNARD all born between 1878 and 1895. Their daughter Ruth married Elmer Frederick DEARBORN on 26 Nov 1914 in Natick, MA. I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this treasure of documents can be returned to the family.
