I've "rescued" an old photograph of Jeanette CLARE and her friend Gladys SPEAKER which was taken in the 1890's or early 1900's. A note on the back of the photograph indicates that it was taken before Jeanette moved to Seattle. I'm guessing that Jeanette is in her teens when the photograph was taken and that Gladys is 12-13 years old at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the girls in the photograph and their families: Jeanette CLARE was b. 25 Apr 1889 in Minneapolis, MN to parents William G. CLARE (b. 1855) and Mary Ellen RUNKLE (b. 1857). Jeanette had one sibling, a brother Eugene CLARE (1887-1952). Jeanette married Frank H. MEYER on 11 Aug 1909 in King County, WA at the home of her parents and together they had two children including a daughter, Jeanette Clare MEYER b. 3 Jun 1913 in Hennepin, MN. Gladys F. SPEAKER was b. Dec 1894 to parents Peter Elwood SPEAKER (1861-1939) and Mary WEST (1857-1926). Gladys had a brother Raymond SPEAKER (1891-1914). Gladys died in 1984 in Dallas, TX and is buried in the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN along with her brother. I am hoping to locate someone from their families so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this CLARE or SPEAKER Family, please contact me so that the photograph can be returned. Thanks, Shelley
