Janet was born on Dec. 9, 1933, to Bert Otha Callahan and Elsie Gorman Callahan in Vermilion Grove, Ill. She is survived by George W. "Stormy" Hall, whom she married in 1966. Other survivors are sons, Tim Ellis of Wilmington, Ohio, Tom Ellis of Newport, Ky., David (Kathy) Ellis of Freetown, Ind., Jason Hall of Grand Island, Fla.; grandchildren, Scott (Janice) Ellis of Wilmington, Ohio, Ben (Holly) Ellis of Indianapolis, Ind., Jacob Ellis of Columbus, Ind., Palmer Hall of Belleview, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Braeden Ellis of Indianapolis, Ind., and Kolton and Kara Ellis of Wilmington, Ohio; sister, Brenda Callahan (Morgan) Lynge of Urbana; sister-in-law, Kae Callahan DeGood of Loveland, Colo.; nieces and nephews [grandnieces and grandnephews], Bert (Debbie) Callahan [Jason, Ryan, Sarah Jane] of Beaver Dam, Wis., Bill (Kim) Callahan [Devin, Dakota] of Des Moines, Iowa, Kenda Callahan (Art) Hess [Anna Kae, Nik, William] of Rantoul, Carrie Carter (Ion) Coman [Andrei, Alexie] of Monterey, Calif., and Alison Carter (David) Rehm [Nelson, Sam] of Oconomowoc, Wis., Faith Ann Callahan (Greg) Dunn [Steven] of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Craig (Kim) Callahan of Los Angeles, Calif., and Kevin (Sue) Callahan [Shannon, Kenton] of Tacoma, Wash. Janet was preceded in death by a son, Robin Ellis; parents, Bert Otha Callahan and Elsie Gorman Callahan; brothers, Lee, Ray and Gary Callahan; and sister, Esther Callahan. Janet loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and was a faithful believer in God's Holy Word. Her life and character were shaped and determined by the Word she held sacred. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She was a warrior without compromise when it came to the well-being of her family and all little folks. Janet taught elementary school for over 30 years in Ohio and North Carolina, and every child in her classroom was dear to her. She worked for 15 years as a Reading Recovery resource teacher in Florida, developing programs that are used today to shape the lives of young readers. She was also co-owner of A Place to Learn tutoring service. Memorial Bible purchases may be made through Gideon's International.
