After years of searching and invaluable help from people on this list and many other sources, I was able to confirm Nebraska as the state where my aunt Loretta Marcella (MERRICK) Irvin died in 1964. However, I do not have an exact date, but a range of August-October. When I looked up the requirements in Nebraska, of course they want/need a date of death. Then it appears that only "next of kin" or a legal representative may obtain the records. I am her neice, and to my knowledge she has no living "next of kin." Besides the genealogical research, there is also the possibility of a genetic disorder that may have played into her passing. Any ideas most welcome!
